Help using Orange Messenger

How do I use the service on my PC?
Click on the question mark on your PC screen, and enter a key word in the Search box.

Will I be able to find all my contacts?
You’ll find all your Windows Live Messenger or MSN Messenger contacts on your PC and mobile.  If you have Yahoo! contacts, you’ll only see them on your PC.

Can I connect to Orange Messenger by Windows Live™ simultaneously via my PC and my mobile?
No, as soon as you connect to one device, you’ll be identified and disconnected from the other.

Can I hide my telephone number when I call a contact from my PC?
Yes, Orange Messenger by Windows Live™ lets you hide your number when you make a call from your PC, so the person you are calling can’t see your number and call you back.  All you need to do is put the numbers 3651 in front of the number you are calling, e.g. 36510388123456 means you can call the number 03 88 12 34 56 anonymously.

How can I use Micro Secrecy and Silence Loudspeaker from my PC?
Micro Secrecy is useful if you want to speak with someone next to you, without the person you’re calling hearing what you’re saying, or to stop the person you’re calling getting background noise from your end.

You just need to click on the microphone during your call, to turn it on. Then just click it again when you want to talk.

Remember, only activate Micro Secrecy after you’ve made a call – if you do it before, you will be disconnected after a few seconds. Also, if you turn on Micro Secrecy, it means your call will be automatically disconnected after one hour – so for long conversations, turn it off and on regularly.

Silence Loudspeaker lets you turn off the sound of the person you’re calling, useful if you need to concentrate on someone next to you.

With both functions, you can adjust the volume of your microphone or speaker with your cursor.

What happens to any text or voice credits bought before I activated Orange Messenger by Windows Live™?
These credits won’t be valid any more, so we suggest you use them before activating Orange Messenger by Windows Live™.

How can I find or change my password?
If you’ve lost your password, go to Preferences on this site and create a new password.
